Global Sikh Foundation (GSF) is a foundation where OUR Objectives are bringing communities together.
Where Sikhs believe in SEWA ( Service) helping poor and needy are recognized as a positive force and a distinct religious, cultural spheres working with all communities bringing everyone together.
GSF is giving platform established to motivate a surge in activism providing a common platform for all communities.
Activities in USA include food drives, educational initiatives, health awareness campaigns, mental health clinics, mindfulness and meditation events, and skill development workshops.

SEWA (Service) and Community Building
At Global Sikh Foundation, our first objective is rooted in the timeless Sikh principle of SEWA – selfless service. We firmly believe that helping those in need transcends boundaries and unites communities. In our pursuit of SEWA, we have started AMERICA APPRECIATION LUNCH LANGAR to be a positive force, bridging the gaps between different religious and cultural spheres.

OUR NATIONAL PARTNERS
ABOUT FOUNDER
Avinder Chawla serves as Chair of the South Asia and Central Asia Advisory Committee on Foreign Affairs, under the leadership of Honorable Congresswomen Sydney Kamlager Dove of 37 th District( LA Area), working with leaders from 19 countries to advance democracy, religious freedom, and economic partnerships. His mission is to promote global peace through global trade, stability, and shared prosperity by fostering bilateral trade, economic cooperation, and strategic dialogue.
A civil engineer with 35 years of public service, Avinder is in his third 2 year 2025-27 consecutive term on the California Democratic Party’s Resolutions Committee under Governor Gavin Newsom — the first Indian Sikh to hold this position. He is also the former Chair of the Transportation Commission for the City of Irvine. As a national leader of South Asians of America, he traveled to 12 states in just 3 months campaigning for Vice President Kamala Harris, while serving DNC in Finance Council, DNC raised $31 million in one day in Los Angeles Fundraiser — the largest fundraiser in U.S. history for any Presidential Candidate in politics.
Avinder has worked closely with the Biden Administration, attending briefings from the White House on U.S.-India relations. He is active in interfaith work, bridging gaps among communities with mutual understanding, and has served on the White House Faith Team, the Newport-Mesa Interfaith Council, and the Sheriff’s Interfaith Advisory Council. Through the Global Sikh Foundation, which he leads with his daughters, he has delivered humanitarian relief and community service across the U.S., including critical aid during the Los Angeles wildfires.

Co-Founder
Gurpreet Chawla is a former Head of Department at a major pharmaceutical company and the steadfast foundation — the backbone — of the Chawla family’s public service work. While helping with the family’s business ventures, she has devoted herself to raising their three daughters, all pursuing careers in the medical field. Her leadership, nurturing spirit, and commitment to family values have been a driving force behind the Chawlas’ shared mission of service. They both are parents to three daughters, elder working in medical field graduated from USC in Health Adminstration and twins graduated working towards goal of becoming physicians.
